FAITH MISSIONS

One of Faith Church’s highlights in the fall is our Mission Emphasis Week.  This year, Mission Emphasis Week will be November 5 through November 12.

Our theme this year will be “Building Bridges.”  Our main focus will be about parenting a new church as Faith Church has commitments with the Bridge Ministry in Frankfort.

Our schedule of services for the week is:

November 5 Morning Worship Service—Nick A. will lead the service and Dan VdH. for the Church School hour.  Dan is a missionary with the Christian Reformed World Missions in Haiti.

Evening Worship Service—Rev. Julius M. from the New Life Church in New Lenox will be with us.  We have invited the congregations of the New Life Church and Community Life Church to worship with us at the evening service.  There will be a supper for all in the fellowship hall following the service.

November 12 Morning Worship Service—Rev. Jim O. from Christian Reformed Home Missions will be with us.

Evening Worship Service—Rev. John Ouwinga will lead us in worship.

We hope everyone will join us and learn about opportunities of service.

Please remember Faith Promise Fund in your giving commitments.  We need your assistance to support our commitments to the missionaries, as our balance is lower than expected.

Tanya H. grew up in Oostburg, Wisconsin, which is one hour north of Milwaukee.  She graduated from Trinity Christian College with a Business major and a minor in Human Resources, which she puts to good use at Homewood Disposal.  Tanya works with the Customer Service and Accounts Receivable Departments.   Tanya has been coming to Singles/Doubles since she decided to stay in the area after graduation.  She has recently volunteered to be a leader with the Young Peoples for the first time and is a little nervous about the responsibilities she has undertaken.

Tanya is very friendly, helpful and loves to laugh.  She was an integral part of the FaithFest team.  Tanya’s family is very involved at the Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Oostburg.  We hope she enjoys worshipping at Faith Church as much as we love having her here.

The Fellowship Committee is sponsoring a Skating Party on Saturday, October 14, from 4:30 - 7:30 at the Tinley Park Roller Rink.  Members of Orland Park and New Life CRC's have been invited to join us.  Everyone is invited to come and bring friends.  It's only $3.00!!  Bring your own rollerblades or rent skates there.  This event is for kids of all ages.

YOUNG PEOPLES

This month our schedule will be a little off due to some special events and five Sundays.  We invite all high schoolers to join us on Sunday, October 1st at 7:30 p.m. for our regular meeting.  The special event this month is on Sunday, October 8th.  There will be a Classis Youth Service at Calvin CRC that evening at 6:00 p.m.  This is a youth-lead Youth Service for area churches.  Our second monthly meeting will be held on October 24 so we are back on schedule for every other week the rest of the year.

ETM

Junior High’s—our next meeting will be on October 15 at 4:30 p.m., due to the Youth Service on October 8.  We will meet on the 15th and 29th this month so we are back on schedule for every other week the rest of the year.
