Council

Our church government consists of a Council of 12 elders and 10 deacons.  The pastor, Rev Mark Timmer serves as President.

Council meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:30PM.
Elders meet on the 1st Monday of each month at 7:30PM.
Deacons also meet on the 1st Monday of each month at 7:30PM.

Districts

Our congregation is segmented into 10 "districts".  

Each district serves as a prayer chain.  When a need arises, the Elders will notify the members in their district.

Committees

Executive Committee

Mandate: To take action upon any matters between the meetings of the council which are urgent or which have been referred to it by the council.

Members: The President (the pastor), Vice-president, Clerk, Vicar, Treasurer, Chairman of the Deacons.

Worship Committee

Mandate: To organize and supervise all aspects of the worship service, including preaching, pulpit supply, scheduling of the sacraments, liturgical matters, music and choir, worship accouterments (banners, etc.), bulletins, ushering and a well ordered nursery.

Stewardship Committee

Mandate: To educated and encourage our congregation to thoughtfully, joyfully, generously, and thankfully practice a lifestyle that continuously applies these truths as we manage all that God has entrusted to us, and live our lives in service to Him, each other, and all those who have not yet heard or accepted His call of salvation.

Education Committee

Mandate: To organize and supervise all aspects of church education as conducted in the adult and children's Church School (including catechism class), adult education, youth and children's groups, library administration, other societies, and educational organizations.

Building and Grounds Committee

Mandate: To supervise the maintenance of and expenditures for the parsonage and church building. This includes the supervision of the janitor.

Finance Committee

Mandate: To oversee the General Fund, Building Fund and mortgage. The Finance Committee proposes the annual budget, and advises the Council on all financial matters. This committee also audits the General Fund, Benevolent Fund, C.E.F., Building Fund, and all church organization accounts (Cadets, Young Peoples, Hands of Faith, etc.)

Social Concerns Committee

Mandate: To serve both the church leadership and congregation by providing information about social issues of concern to the body of Christ and education of Christian responsibilities to love and service in the public square. The committee shall also endeavor to equip the church for action when so directed and to coordinate congregational involvement. The committee shall also act as a liaison to other pro-family organizations and churches, direct the congregation in biblical responses to moral issues and guide the congregation toward a fuller experience of their Christian faith in the public square.

Mission/Evangelism Committee

Mandate: To plan, initiate, and promote a program of witness and outreach that will bring the gospel to our community through the members of Faith Church. These programs include Coffee Break & Story Hour, Mission Emphasis Week, S.W.I.M (Summer Workshop In Ministries) teams, Truck Stop Ministries, VBS. and neighborhood welcome calls. To promote the cause of denominational home, and world missions within the congregation by sponsoring missionaries through The Back to God Hour, CRWRC, World Missions, and Home Missions.

Fellowship Committee

Mandate: To organize and supervise church activities which will promote the fellowship of the members and to encourage the integration of new members into the life of the congregation, by way of social functions, coffees, etc. To arrange for greeters at the worship services.

Christian Education Committee

Mandate: To promote Christian education in Faith Church in order to achieve the following goals:
1) endorse and promote Christian education as an important component of raising children in the fear of the Lord,
2) encourage more parents to send their children to SCCS for Reformed Christian education;
3) raise money for the financial support of SCCS from all members of the congregation.
