What is Story Hour? 

A place to learn about God. Children meet the God who made the world and cares for it. They learn about Jesus' love through stories in the Bible. They experience that love through caring, committed teachers who love God and love children. Story Hour is a place to ask questions and find answers. It's a place to learn and grow. 

Who may come? 

All 3- to 5-year-old children. Short ones, tall ones, shy ones, sure ones. All children who are small, wide-eyed wonders in a busy, adult world. In Story Hour we celebrate the unique creation of God that each child is. 

What do children do in Story Hour? 

Lots of things. They sing and share. They hear a Bible story (and sometimes act it out) and they make a craft. They eat a snack. They laugh and are loved a lot. They make new friends. They learn about God and about life in his world. 

What's the atmosphere like? 

Warm and loving. Story Hour is structured just enough to make it feel safe and secure. And it has enough flexibility and freedom to make learning fun. Story Hour stretches a child's mind from earth to heaven. 

Where does Story Hour meet? 

Anywhere there is room! Churches are a logical choice. They are convenient and also have rooms big enough to contain active little ones who need plenty of room to learn and explore. Many Story Hour programs are part of a companion program called Coffee Break, where moms study the Bible together while Story Hour meets. 

Who teaches the children? 

Caring, committed teachers. They are women (and sometimes men) who love children, who know how to relate to them, and who want to help them grow and discover. People who model the love of Jesus in their own lives. 

Is there a charge? 

No. God's love is free and so is the time spent learning about him. Only occasionally do Story Hour programs ask for help to cover incidental expenses.
